What Lies Beneath is an ocean data visualization project, it explores a new visual language driven by 20 years of data information by Nasa (2003-2023). The 3D-mapped projection mapping transforms the stones of Nawi Cove in Barangaroo into an underwater home of corals and creatures, creating a visceral and inhabitable visual realm where each organism changes based on data sets representing the behaviour of the ocean. This work was initially made for Vivid Sydney 2023 and commissioned by NSW Destination.
